Displacement Solutions was established in 2007 by Scott Leckie and is registered as a Non-Profit Association in Geneva, Switzerland.

Displacement Solutions maintains the world’s only registry of housing, land and property rights experts with long-term experience working in post-conflict and post-disaster contexts. Enquiries about utilising the skills and experience of the registry’s experts in conflict, post-conflict and post-disaster situations are welcome and should be directed to info@displacementsolutions.org.

In addition, Displacement Solutions also carries out a series of innovative core projects focusing on displacement and housing, land and property rights issues around the world.

Mission Statement

Displacement Solutions aims to empower displaced persons and refugees to exercise their right to return and have restored to them their original homes, lands and properties. Displacement Solutions works on behalf of people who have been displaced not only by conflict, forced migration or other human rights abuses, but also natural disaster, climate change or other circumstances beyond their control.

Displacement Solutions assists displaced persons and refugees to find alternative solutions such as just compensation or resettlement if this is their wish. The major services provided by Displacement Solutions include legal expertise, policy advice, training, research and advocacy.
